Wine Tasting in Tuscany
Villa Cetinale is well placed for exploring some of Tuscany’s most celebrated wine regions. From the vineyards of Chianti to the estates of Montalcino and Montepulciano, there are excellent opportunities to discover the wines, landscapes and traditions that have shaped the region.

The Chianti countryside lies closest to the villa, with a wide range of wineries offering tastings, cellar tours and vineyard visits. Around Castellina in Chianti, guests can sample Chianti Classico at both historic estates and smaller family-run producers, often accompanied by local cheeses, olive oils and seasonal produce.
To the north, San Gimignano is known for Vernaccia, one of Tuscany’s oldest white wines. The vineyards surrounding the town offer a different perspective on the region’s winemaking, while the medieval skyline of San Gimignano makes it a rewarding destination in its own right.

Further south, Montepulciano and Montalcino are home to two of Italy’s most respected wines: Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino. Many estates welcome visitors for guided tastings, offering insight into the history, production methods and character of each wine.
Visits can often be combined with lunch at a local restaurant, a walk through a nearby hill town or a scenic drive through the countryside.
For winery recommendations, private tastings, transport arrangements or a tailored itinerary, the house manager will be happy to assist.
